WHERE I'M AT: RECENTLY GRADUATED FASHION DESIGNER, WORKING IN AN INTERSHIP IN LISBON
LOOKING FOR EXPERIENCE/ INTERNSHIPS IN FASHION RELATED BRANDS
I am Matilde Vieira, born and raised in the small town of Coimbra in Portugal. At the age of 18, I moved to Lisbon with the goal of pursuing my dream studies in the field that has always fascinated me - fashion design. This same reason made me go abroad on Erasmus, enriching my learning and seizing every opportunity to excel in my passion. I always prioritize my motivations and the desire to be the best I can be, never fearing to change my surroundings.
Currently, I am a recent graduate in Fashion Design from the Faculdade de Arquitetura at the University of Lisbon.
Upon completing my course, and although part of me knows there is still a lot more to study- and that will always be something I strive for- I realized the importance of understanding the industry from within and discovering what truly fascinates me in practical, real-world situations. Gaining this hands-on experience will provide me with crucial insights and opportunities to evolve my skills and start building my career.
This is why this year I’ve decided to seek internships and experiences directly in the industry. In the meanwhile still participating in fashion-related activities and improving with short courses.
I have rapid learning abilities, approaching my work with humility combined with a receptive mindset. I am fascinated by researching, testing, and experimenting with innovative techniques or fabric manipulation, as well as exploring concepts and transforming them into clothing through sketching.
